Creating canvas prints from photos as work of art has gained tremendous popularity over the years. You can see a lot these art works in homes, offices, even restaurants. These pop art photos look stylish, but they are cost-effective, too. Ordering them is quite easy as well. It will even take you more time selecting which snaps to turn to pop art prints.

Before making any orders, you need to consider what you will do with your canvas prints. In case you will be hanging them on the wall in your household or business, you may want to consider its specific position and see what could also merge well with all the many other items in that space. Next thing you need to do is choosing the size of the canvas prints to use. Also keep in mind to choose frames that will complement your office or home furnishing.

You can also make use of print photos; you just have to make sure that these are scanned in the right resolution. Most technology-savvy people have their digital photos stored in their computers. The right size could be at least 700kb to 2MB or higher. The digital photo resolution should be 1296 x 1728.

In case you already know what pictures to use, you are now ready to place your order. It is now easier to order since you can place them online. The process would include filling up some vital information and the actual uploading of the photos to use. There are also several special effects that you can choose to create unique canvas prints from photos.

You can turn your photos into pop art prints, where you can include several versions of the same photo on just one canvas. You can just make each version different from one another by playing with colors.

With the advent of advanced technology, you can make a few enhancements to correct flaws on your digital photos. You can also choose different tones to create a different feel on the photos. Sepia and black-and-white effect can be applied to photos of you as a child, to create a nostalgic look.

You will also be given the option to have your photos framed or not. As brought up earlier, make sure that you select a frame that will go along well with your favored room’s furniture. It truly is always enjoyable to look at a well synchronised interior design. Some people prefer not to put photos into frames to give their work of art a modern feel into it. After you’re done with the needed specifics, you can fill up the shipping and billing information form.

Canvas prints from photos will indeed make an elegant, one-of-a-kind work of art. They will definitely make good conversational piece when you invite people over. You don’t even have to be an experienced artist or painter to create this simple artwork.

They can make great gift ideas as well. If you want to give something unique to your mom or dad, or even to your kids, photo pop art is the excellent choice.

Prepare to unleash your creativity and make your own masterpiece.

There are many individual elements of what makes an image appear a certain way. Exposure, film speed, camera quality, type of frame (like a gallery picture frame) and printing method all have an impact on the quality of your final print. Contrast is one of the most important and easily manipulated elements of a photograph and, when used properly, can take your images to a whole new level.

Contrast is simply the difference between the darks and light in your photographs. In terms or black and white photography, high contrast prints have very dark black and super bright whites with no shades in between, while low contrast images will have more grey. In color photographs, contrast can be used to describe the intensity of the colors and how they stand out in relation to each other. While theres no perfect level of contrast, a good rule of thumb is to try and create images that have pure black, pure white, and every shade in between. This is not as easy as it sounds!

Contrast in Action
As a photographer, youll probably find a set amount of contrast that works for you. Some prefer high contrast, some prefer low, but remember that its all about what works for you. As long as your pictures tell the story you want to share, there is no right or wrong answer.

If you want to see some examples of excellent normal contrast just look at the work by Ansel Adams. His landscape photographs in black and white cover every base possible in terms of greys, blacks, and whites, and are quite powerful because of it. No wonder Ansel Adams images are so frequently seen framed in simple black picture frames in homes and offices - as the contrast black and white tones are exquisite. As an example of high contrast, films like Sin City and The Spirit used high contrast imagery to tell their story.

Manipulating Contrast
There are a few things you can do to adjust the contrast of your images. Different types of film or digital camera settings will give your pictures different amounts of contrast. For example, slide film has a high contrast ratio compared to regular film. You can also increase the time your film develops or “push” your film so that your images will have more contrast. Be careful that you don’t over-develop your film because, unlike prints, it can’t be redone once you develop it.

In the darkroom, you can apply a filter to your enlarger to change the contrast of your images. A #1 filter wil be a slight contrast increase, whereas a #4 filter will significantly increase the contrast level in your print. If you’re using a digital camera, most photo editing software has a built in contrast option that will let you mimic the changes you could make in the darkroom. Contrast is unlimited in what you can do with it so play around and take it to the limit and see what happens.

Contrast can control the focal point of an image, as in where your viewers look. It can help better define important parts of a picture and creates a better final product when it is present in the right levels. The right (or wrong type) of picture frame can also impact how the viewer looks at your picture so make sure to stick with a frame that has simple clean lines and avoid highly decorative, beaded or jeweled picture frames.

Use the pure black, pure white rule in every photograph and youll see a huge improvement in the images you produce. Once you understand what degree of contrast works in your photos, you’ll start to see how you can use contrast in the real world to shoot even better pictures. As always, the best way to get better is to shoot, shoot, shoot!

Macro photography has grown to be a hobby (or profession) for many photographers in the prior handful of years due to better quality equipment for sale at reasonable prices. This posting was originally published on my Nature and Travel Photography web site and shares my thoughts with regards to what to invest in if you are interested in shooting macro photos. I recommend the The 123di Suite for additional information, a FREE sample is available.

Macro Photography Equipment

* dedicated macro lenses

* extension tubes or bellows units

* reversing rings

* close up lenses and

* macro zooms (which are pushing the limit of what we are talking about)

Dedicated macro lenses are the ultimate way to go if you are serious at all about doing this sort of work. It does not have to be expensive, I purchased a great 50mm Sigma Macro lens used for all of $120 (brand new about $270) and it really is tack sharp and produces amazing images. My main macro lens is a Sigma 150mm Macro and cost a whopping $700, the best money I have ever spent. This provides you an idea about the cost range available and the sky’s the limit with a few highly specialized Nikon macro lenses in the $1,500 range. Why the variation in focal lengths? I’ll get to that soon in another article that I’m working on! If you are really serious about macro photography purchasing a lens specifically designed for the purpose is the best way to go. The lens designs are generally optimized for close focusing and the lenses are also generally flat field (focus in a flat plane) producing sharper corners on flat subjects such as fragments of wood or slabs of rock. Flat field may be a term that many have not heard of and I’ll elaborate later on this as well.

Extension tubes or bellows units are pieces of equipment that put space between the camera body and the lens thus allowing the lens to focus closer. They can work well with certain lenses, for instance, if you have a 50mm prime lens this may be a good option to get into macro work at an reasonably priced cost. Extension tubes often come in sets of 3 of different lengths (high quality tubes tend to be sold individually) that can be used singly or combined to get the close focusing distance required. Bellows units work on the identical principle but are expandable like a “bellows” allowing a good deal of flexibility. The real drawback is the expense and they are bulky and heavy as well. I expect most individuals use bellows units for studio work only as they aren’t terribly practical in the field. One area where extension tubes really stand out is definitely for making lengthy focal length camera lenses like a 500mmfocus closer, great for photographing skittish damsel flys and other critters.

Close up lenses are transparent “filters” that twist onto the front of your lens permitting the lens to focus closer. Quality may differ from mediocre to very acceptable depending on the quality of the filters. This is likely the least expensive way to start shooting macro but does have its downsides. A major factor that has to be looked at is the quality of the camera lens you will be using. Inexpensive zoom lenses will likely produce less than stellar results while high quality prime lenses can produce excellent results but none of these will produce tack sharp results like the dedicated macro lenses. The biggest advantage? As these are just fancy filters they are very light, no extra tubes or additional lenses to bring.

You don’t hear much about reversing rings anymore and I expect that’s because most individuals are using zoom lenses that likely wouldn’t work very well. Reversing rings make it possible for you to mount a lens “backwards” on your digital camera body. When used with superior quality prime lens the results can be amazing and if you reverse a wide angle lens usually an individual can achieve a large magnifications on the order of 2 times or more. For individuals interested in high magnification shooting this is frequently the approach to use, particularly if you’re on a spending budget.

What about the macro zoom lens which you currently possess? Many of the brand new lenses which arrive as acomponent of a kit are branded as macro zooms and although they do focus a bit nearer compared to normal they are definitely not genuine macro lenses. My personal working experience has been that a lot of of them are extremely questionable in terms of sharpness as these kinds of lenses are not specially designed for this sort of job application. Of course in a pinch they will work but to get in really in close proximity to your subject one of the above options would be best.

What are you presently using? Are you satisfied with the results?

Discussing the wide variety of lights and the infinite number of setup combinations in a photography studio could be the subject of a book. And in fact, there are several books dedicated to this specific topic. However, if you’re interested in investing in some studio lighting equipment, there are a few basic things that every photographer should know. With a good set of basic lighting tools, you should be able to shoot in most types of situations and subjects. Here is a run down on the most common types of studio lighting.

Continuous Lighting
These are the sorts of lights you may associate with movie production. Continuous light simply refers to light that is always present in the studio (as opposed to a flash which is there and gone). Though this method can generate quite a bit of heat and definitely uses more power, it is a great way to work subtle lighting situations. Since you will be able to see your lights interacting before you shoot, youll have a much better idea of what the photograph is going to look like.

You can pick up a simple kit for continuous lighting online for a pretty reasonable price. Most photo stores on the web have a section dedicated to studio lighting equipment, so from there its mostly an issue of what you’re willing to spend. Look for a flash kit that has light stands, light fixtures, bulbs and a reflective umbrella. Continuous light can be provided by halogen, fluorescent and tungsten light bulbs. There is no one “better” bulb as your taste and tone will dictate your choice.

Studio Flash
As you may have guessed, this type of studio lighting equipment is dedicated to setups that utilize a flash like those used in fashion shoots. Flash setups are low on power consumption and even lower in terms of heat generation, and are usually the best option when shooting human subjects for extended periods of time. Flashes are available in either moonlights or flash systems moonlights require only syncing to the camera while power-pack based flash systems will have a central power point to which all the flash heads connect.

Like continuous lighting, there are lots of flash kits available to choose from. Make sure they have umbrellas, lighting stands, modeling lamps (let you preview your lighting) and the needed sync cords to ensure your flashes fire at the exact same time. The easiest flash to use are flashes with sensors as they fire with your camera but they are more expensive.

It’s worth noting that combining these two studio lighting methods is one of your strongest options in getting good quality light. This will help you have lots of flexibility in your shooting so you will be up to the task no matter what comes your way. With starter kits starting as low as $50, you should be able to get some decent studio lighting equipment at a low initial investment. And once you get your studio lighting set, then you can try using different types of lenses in the studio like learning how to use a zoom lens or even using a macro lens to get all different kinds of results.

You’ve just exchanged your “I dos”. You are dazed and elated. Congratulations all around. You might have a Receiving Line. Typical first order of business after all that - the Family Portraits.

Yet, while Family Pictures are important, there are bigger concerns, (ie) the Bride & Groom shots (with the Wedding Party photos sandwiched in between). So, with time quite often being of the essence, it’s important for the wedding photographer to get the Family Shots squared away with minimal delay. Under the ideal conditions they are a breeze. Conversely, they can be a frustrating experience (mostly for the Couple).

First things first, where are you going to do the Family Pictures? If the ceremony and reception are at the same place, it’s a snap. Otherwise, you usually have two choices: (1) at the ceremony site; (2) at the park.

If there is a spot at the ceremony site, that is ideal because (1) everyone is already there. Remember, some elders cannot even get into the park (eg) wheelchair; (2) if the pictures are to be taken at another location, such as in a park, cars will be needed - which can suck up precious time and can result in some people getting lost - which can be a real problem if an unaccounted for person is someone important, such as the Groom’s brother.

If the Family Pictures only include the immediate families it’s easy. But, with large families, (ie) cousins, aunts and uncles, then you’ll want to have a shot list to dodge a potentially aggravating experience. Why is this important? You’ll have upwards of forty hanging around waiting for their turn. If you don’t have a list there will be any number of people giving ideas as to what picture to take next (and it’s predictable how often the most infuriating member of the family comes front and center with their opinions, which stresses everybody out - especially the Bride and Groom). Meanwhile, it’s a mega waste of time. That’s when people float away - to go have a cigarette, to get out of the heat, etc.

All of this can really throw off the plan thereby threatening the time there is for the Bride and Groom pictures - by far the most important shots. The wedding photography will suffer. Furthermore, anything that results in clear delays means stress, which the Bride regrettably seems to feel more than anyone else. Always keep in mind, “Happy Bride, Happy Day”.

Will the List limit the number of shots? No, it won’t. The List is not etched in stone, but having it to work from makes it easy to do additional unplanned shots.

With the List, begin with one side of the family, let’s say the man’s side, ending with his parents. With his parents still there, you segue to the other half, starting with her parents (for the two parents shot), then dive over to her side.

A concluding note about the List. It must be in the hands of a dependable and capable person, someone who can identify almost everyone and who is not timid - because it can be quite chaotic with all those people milling about and talking.

The Family Pictures are definitely not the most inspired of the day’s shots but they should not be taken for granted. If they are effectively planned for they end up being both straightforward and valued, which leads to more creative wedding photography in general.

Pictures are said to be worth a thousand words, but pictures printed on canvas are sure to be worth a million words! Having photos of your favorite memories printed on to canvas is the latest trend when it comes to having those memories preserved. Canvas prints are sure to make photos of your most memorable moments last longer!

Have your infant’s snapshot and your kid’s most promising and captivating smiles printed on canvas. Choose shots of your treasured memorable times such as graduations, prom nights, vacations, reunions and birthdays and have a montage or accumulate them in a mosaic ahead of printing them on canvas.

You can have your favorite artwork reproduced on canvas! This is certainly more affordable than getting your very own classic oil painting framed in your home. Canvas prints will have the same grainy texture as an oil painting; the difference is that it is definitely cheaper!

At the same time, canvas prints are also turning out to be a popular art form as large numbers of artists are converting to digital technology to transform images and photos into works of art. Digital images can be modified to have colors and themes altered. A new photo can sport an old antique look by changing its colors to sepia or grayscale and having it printed into canvas. Moreover a photo can have a younger more upbeat look, when transformed into wall art or pop art.

This is done with the latest photo printing technology which allows digital photos and images to be printed into canvas. It is similar to having your digital photos printed on shirts and bags. Only this occassion, you’re having your photographs printed on the artists’ canvas making it a great décor on your walls of homes and places of work. As a substitute for having pictures printed on glossy or matte paper and framing them, canvas prints provide the perfect substitute. Canvas prints on your walls will certainly catch the eye of friends and family as they enter your living area.

It is very easy to have your photos printed on canvas and acquire your very own canvas prints. Many digital photo shops now have websites that allow you to purchase online. All you would have to do is choose a design or a theme online. Also you can have your digital photograph or very own picture sent to them and they should do all the work for you. Having your photo printed on canvas is just a few mouse clicks away. Many photo printing corporations will send you the final edited photo or artwork in a matter of a few hours or minutes before they print the approved photo design and layout on canvas. It usually takes just a few working days to have the photo or artwork on canvas printed and delivered.

Choose a reputable company to make sure that you will have high quality photo prints on canvas. They do not only make great wall decors to give your interiors a boost, they will also make great memorable gifts that will surely brighten the day of someone really special.

canon powershot sd3500is

The Canon SD3500IS has been getting some very nice reviews. It has so many features to offer the user. It can be of much use to a professional or novice alike. It has good battery life. The low light performance works very well. The LCD screen is considered to be very bright. The camera is easy to use and very light weight. It also has a very simple menu system that anyone can navigate.

Many have considered the battery life of this camera to be a really great feature. Nobody likes a camera that runs through batteries too quickly. This costs not only a lot of headaches but a lot of money. Most camera batteries are not obtained cheaply. By using a equipment exactly like it this seems to have the most from a battery an individual can really spend less a lot of money. They also don’t miss out on any photo opportunities.
This particular camera does real well with low light applications. This kind of enters in handy for some unique scenarios. Cameras that come with poor abilities in minimal lightweight situations find them selves never nearly as useful as ones that do. Many vacation spots and attractions feature areas of extremely low light. These areas tend to have some of the most interesting things a person would want to photograph.

One of the greatest features of the Canon SD3500IS is the very bright quality of the LCD screen. Many cameras are brought down significantly due to dimly lit LCD screens. This causes the photographer to have to strain when viewing the unit. This can be really bad on the eyes. It can also make photographing a very difficult task when it really shouldn’t have to be. Seeing the screen on the Canon is very easy.

Some people have already been considering the camera an extremely simple to use one. This ease of use is one of the most common things that consumers will demand from a digital camera. Some cameras are a lot more difficult to use and require a learning curve. People often regret spending money on such camera because they give up on them before they are able to learn to use them properly. Learning this Canon takes very little time.
The Canon SD3500IS is a very light weight and portable one. The unit can be carried easily in any travel bag or even pocket. The small size allows it to be fit into almost any article of baggage. This is invaluable when traveling. Almost everyone choose cameras like these when it comes to traveling applications. The light weight and small size also help the user to hold and use the unit for extended periods of time.

The menu system offered by this camera is a very effective one. This is because it is so very simple to navigate. Some cameras offer menus that people cannot easily navigate through. This can be very discouraging. It can sometimes cause people to miss out on photo opportunities. With this camera that is not the case as the menus are very simple and straight forward.

To put it simply, the Canon SD3500IS has many great features to offer anybody. It can work well for capturing home memories. It can work well for vacation and travel photography. Experts will learn that they might find much work with from it. Two things that really make it stand out are it’s extended battery life and the very simple and easy to use menu screens.

Hewlett-Packard is a manufacturing company based in the USA which is world famous, inter alia, for its range of digital cameras. Every type of cameramen seek ho digital cameras for their distinctiveness. The initial simple digital camera put out by the company was called Photosmart. The Company marketed several series of cameras afterwards but did not change the brand name Photosmart.

You will be surprised at what you will get if you care to do a search on the WWW for hp digital cameras. There are numerous websites that will provide you with ready information on all the hp digital cameras. These websites have all the details of the latest products as well as those which have been discontinued from production.

In addition, it is not difficult to find whether the model you have in mind to be purchased is just right for your photographic experience. There are whole websites that exclusively carry reviews and guides on each and every model of hp digital cameras. All you have to do is just read these user reviews and become familiar with the pros and cons of the products It is that simple.

A striking feature I got to know on several of these sites on hp digital cameras is that they allow comparisons of hp products among themselves. Having compared all camera specs, the findings are splashed next to each other on the same page. For that matter, not only hp cameras but cameras by other manufacturers are also compared against each other by specs, price, and features. You may make a swift judgment of the most appropriate camera for you by this method. I am sure both the novice and the professional will find this information quite worthwhile.

The latest hp digital cameras have been produced using the latest sophisticated digital camera technology. This has allowed them to introduce many innovative additions their newest models whilst without compromising the neatness and the effectiveness of the camera. Several of the extra striking traits of hp digital cameras are the auto settings, zoom power, inbuilt memory capacity and direct printing.

If, therefore, you actually wish to buy a camera that can capture crystal-clear, lifelike and real photographs and at the same time want to be particular about the weight, neatness and, obviously, the cost, then you had better consider hp digital cameras.

These days, canvas prints are becoming the more popular way to make your favorite and memorable photos last. In fact, getting your pictures printed on canvas are more sturdy and long lasting as opposed to just printing them on photo paper and placing them in an album or framing them. And despite the fact that it may well be quite a while before the usual symptoms of wear and tear will show on your canvas prints, the most important point to making these durable photo prints last longer lies in its sufficient care and safe-keeping. Here are a few guidelines that you can follow in order to make your photos printed on canvas last even longer.

Do not place your canvas prints in places where direct sunlight will hit them. As much as photo printing companies will profess on the quality of their products and the materials that they use, too much exposure to direct sunlight will inevitably take its toll. Even the best and most pricey inks are certain to diminish in due time if high temperature and ultra-violet rays hits your photo all the time. It is of course very important to place your canvas prints in areas that are well lighted in order to give them the focus and the attention that these fabulous works of art deserve. Still do don’t forget to stay away from direct sunlight!

Always bear in mind the fact that canvas cloth and wood frames are very sensitive to heat and moisture. Even though positioning these canvas photo prints over fireplaces may seem like an aesthetically good plan, try to remember that the heat that the fireplace can produce can gradually have an effect on the quality of your picture. It can make the canvas cloth brittle and constant exposure to heat from the stove or oven can make the colors fade easily. At the same time, canvas photo printswhich have been used to accentuate the kitchen will usually be placed as far from the sink or places where water and moisture will reach them. At the same time, keep them clear from the stove where continuously changing heat and food stains can ruin these canvas photo prints. Wet spots attract molds and moisture can sooner or later damage the quality of your canvas prints.

Make sure to dust your canvas photo prints regularly and ever so lightly. Dirt can easily darken your canvas photo prints, particularly when accumulated. Worse, they can harden and completely impair your canvas photo prints. Dust and do not wipe them. Use your trusted feather duster or a light brush to clear away accrued dust as gently as possible. Dust them at least once every week; make sure that you do not use moistened cloth that can potentially damage your canvas photo prints.

Any time you are switching to a new home or shifting your canvas prints from one room to another, take extra care in touching them to avoid permanently wrinkling or damaging the appearance of the canvas. When storing your canvas photo prints, make sure that they are wrapped and boxed properly.
Canvas prints are as fantastic as your treasured happy memories. Great care should be taken in order to make these captured memories last.
